Ain't it wonderful, ain't it grand!
We're a big,fat joke with our heads in the sand.
We say we really care, but our butts are in the air.
Someone'll come along and shoot em off of there.
We'll look up surprised with a tear in our eyes.
Ain't it wonderful, ain't it grand!
Ain't it wonderful, ain't it grand!
We're a big, fat joke with our heads in the sand.
We've been PC so long, We see nothing that is wrong.
Our world is on a slide that is on the downward side.
With troubles piled high, we just sigh and let em lie.
Ain't it wonderful, ain't it grand!

Love is Patient
Love is Patient
by Margaret Hendricks 2012
Dedicated to my loved ones, my dears, who were
patient.
The sadness in me was so deep.
I said, "forever"
You said, "temporal"
Life screamed so loud it overwhelmed.
I said,"can't"
You said," can,will"
You knew
You had felt
You stood outside my gray and waited.
Saying in your quiet, calm voice
"I hear, I'm near, I love you, dear"
You stood outside my gray and waited.
Saying in your quiet, calm voice
"I care, reach out, dare, dear"
You had felt
You knew
Life was simple in the sun.
I said,"yes"
You said,"hurray"
The joy burst so strong it echoed.
I said,"good"
You said,: always"
The sadness in me was so deep.
I said, "forever"
You said, "temporal"
Life screamed so loud it overwhelmed.
I said,"can't"
You said," can,will"
You knew
You had felt
You stood outside my gray and waited.
Saying in your quiet, calm voice
"I hear, I'm near, I love you, dear"
You stood outside my gray and waited.
Saying in your quiet, calm voice
"I care, reach out, dare, dear"
You had felt
You knew
Life was simple in the sun.
I said,"yes"
You said,"hurray"
The joy burst so strong it echoed.
I said,"good"
You said,: always"

Hot Texas Afternoon
Hot Texas Afternoon
I sit by my window watching the dry wind bluster through the trees in the park below.I watch the children running and playing.Their voices rising above the heat of the day.
And I remember, my own sons playing in the hot Texas afternoons. They screech and squeal as they take turns chasing each other with sparkling sprays from the garden hose. Falling together in a puddle they made; laughing and wrestling the day away. I thought we would be together forever.

Spontaneous Poem
I thought of a poem I wanted to write
It's sweet, it's sweet, it's sweet
I plotted, I planned to get it just right
Be neat, be neat, be neat
But alas it flew right out of my head
delete,delete, delete
Now I cry alone in my bed
we ep, we ep, we ep.

Blessed are the Poor in Spirit
False intellect skewed and twisted with dark intents
Panders to the weak- willed and pretentious.
Blinded by the percieved brilliance, the prideful self struggles on
Steeping in doctrines, philosophies and trite sayings till truth is obliterated.
He is left with nothing more than the thunderous sound of many words
Echoing thru dark,dry places.
Where did the self-proclaimed counsels flee?
Blessed are the poor in spirit.

Now
Some days I wonder,"What If?";
but then I realize..Here is NOW.
I love NOW.
There is breath, there is sunlight, there are trees and the sounds of birds and children's laughter in NOW.
IF dwindles in the joys of life today.
NOW
